WHAT IS WORSHIP?

Many people define worship as just singing slow songs to God. But what exactly is Worship??

We have to understand, worship isn’t just about singing songs on Sunday mornings. Worship is a mean of direct communication to God. The Bible says in John 4:23-24 that "...the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth." When we worship in spirit, our spirits connect and unite with the Spirit of God and we become one in Spirit, and what the Spirit of God says we discern in our Spirit. God desires a heart that cry out to Him desperately not because you need healing or something else, but a heart that expresses gratefulness to Our God for Who He is and all that He has done. A heart that glorifies and exalts Him. Worship gets God’s attention. It is a powerful tool in the life of a believer because God inhabits our worship! When we enter His presence the right way, He enters our circumstances; and when God shows up, the enemy must flee!

What The Bible says About Worship.
  • Worship is proclaiming the Word of God (1 Tim. 4:13).
  • Worship is confessing the name of God with our lips (Heb. 13:15).
  • Worship is praying in the Spirit (Eph. 6:18).
  • Worship is responding to the Word of God, doing what He says. (Ex. 24:3).
  • Worship is singing & talking to others with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. (Eph. 5:19).
  • Worship is remembering what Jesus did for us on the Cross, Communing (1 Cor. 11:24).
  • Worship is living a Godly lives (1 Cor. 11:2).
  • Worship is offering sacrifices of praise to God (Heb. 13:15).
  • Worship is giving our entire being to God. (Rom. 12:1).
  • Worship is doing good things and sharing what we have. Generosity. (Heb. 13:16).
God created us to Worship Him. Imagine God giving us a creation from dust, a chance to join the heavenly hosts, the galaxies, the waters, and plantations in worshiping Him. The living and the dead worship Him. You better worship Him because if you don't "...the stones along the road would burst into cheers!" Luke19:40. It's not everyday you get to stand or kneel before an earthly king. Now that you have a chance to worship the KING of kings, do it wholeheartedly.

Please as You Worship God keep this three things in Mind.
  1. God MUST be worshiped in Spirit and Truth.
  2. God must be worshiped with NO strings attached.
  3. Worship is sharper than any razor. It cuts through spiritual fabric.

Ask yourself this questions:
Do I genuinely worship God or do I do it as a show off?
Do I worship in the flesh or in the spirit?

May the spirit of God lead you as pray and desire to be a true worshiper.
